Easter basket

In accordance to christian traditions,  Easter Saturday is the day when we bring an Easter basket to the church. Although everyone knows very well what it should contain, few people are aware of what each object inside means. Below, I will try to explain the meaning of the most important components of the Easter basket.

Egg – is the symbol of new life. It indicates the triumph of life over death.

Bread – symbolises Jesus who was the bread of life for Christians. It indicates the physical force and health.

Salt – symbolises purification, simplicity and truth.

Lamb – symbolises obedience and the overcome of evil.

Boxwood – is the symbol of nature.
